Ayurveda is a science that has evolved over thousands of years, guided by experience, observation, and a deep connection with nature. My journey in Ayurveda spans over three decades, rooted in traditional Sri Lankan practices and strengthened through formal medical education and continuous service to the community.

I belong to the Dhanwantharie Ayurvedic tradition of Sirigala, Dambadeniya, a family lineage that has practiced and preserved Ayurvedic knowledge across generations. Much of this wisdom has been documented in ancient ola leaf manuscripts, which form the foundation of many classical formulations used in traditional healing.

As a licensed Ayurvedic Medical Practitioner, educated at the Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurvedic Medical College (University of Kelaniya), my work has always focused on maintaining the authenticity of Ayurveda while adapting it responsibly to suit modern lifestyles. Throughout my career—as Medical Officer in Charge at several government Ayurvedic hospitals and as the Founder of an Ayurvedic production enterprise—I have worked to uphold the highest standards of diagnosis, formulation, and patient care 

My role at HIKARI MEC Company (Pvt) Ltd is to provide Ayurvedic consultation and guidance in product formulation, ensuring that every product remains aligned with classical Ayurvedic principles. By interpreting traditional knowledge preserved in ola leaves and combining it with modern quality controls and scientific validation, we have been able to develop products that are safe, effective, and suitable for this era.

I strongly believe that Ayurveda must evolve with time—without losing its authenticity. Through responsible formulation, controlled dosage, and ethical production, HIKARI MEC is taking an important step toward preserving Sri Lanka’s Ayurvedic heritage while making it accessible to a global audience.
